A Letter - 2/30

I wrote you a letter today
But the words were smeared thoughts
Of tears and ink
Fighting on too thin
Too white
Notebook paper
Half torn
When the words wouldn't make sense
A failed attempt to start again

I wrote you a letter today
It burned my heart to release them
To the wild
For your critique
For you to pick what is true to you
And disgard the rest
Like leftovers gone to rot

I wrote you a letter today
But fear took over
Afraid of rejection

I wrote you a letter today
But I threw it away
